To Any Single Moms Out There…

YOU ARE AMAZING. Seriously. Today, I watched my beautiful daughter Stevie for a few hours. It was wonderful being with her, but I got absolutely no work done. How do you do it?!

As I was watching her, it dawned on me that single moms do this every day, all day. They clean their homes, wash clothes, change poopy diapers, rinse bottles, all on-top of working a 40-hour work week (sometimes in the midst of going to school too!). Wow. You are amazing. Do you know that?!

To honor you, I crafted a little prayer for you, that comes from the heart:

———
Lord, please bless the single Moms out there.
I pray that they would see that they have tremendous purpose.
I pray that in the midst of so much activity, they would see themselves as the real life superheros that they are.

May they take pride in who they are, take joy in what they do, and take heart through all things.

Thank you Lord that today, you see these single Moms.
You see their needs, their dreams, and their strong love for their beautiful babies.
Thank you Lord that you walk with them, and I thank you that you guide them.

I am amazed and astounded by them Lord.
They are relentless in their love and protection towards their young.
Bless them Lord.
Bless them and let them see that they are amazing.
Amen.
———

Thank you single Moms for showing the rest of us the way of love and selflessness. I am truly inspired by you.

Be blessed today,
Steven

Nice Prayer. Here’s my tip: whenever possible, nap when your baby naps. It’s tempting to use this time to do other things, but napping restores our energy. Well-rested parents are better capable of handling stress during the waking hours.

Thank you Steven,I feel honored 🙂 I am a single mom and I go to college and work about 20 hours a week.I live by myself and the closest family to me is a 6 hour plane ride away. Its hard, but I do it because I know that it is all for Bailey and we will both benefit from it 🙂

My two biggest parenting tips are these

1.) NEVER,I repeat NEVER leave the house with out a bottle at least TWO pacifiers, plenty of diapers AND a change of clothing. Learned that the hard way.

    and

2.) You do not have to be with the kids every second that you are home. When I am home,I do spend time with Bailey, but not all of my time. I learned that sometimes, they like to play by themselves.

Hope I helped, and thank you once again!

    Kay 🙂

This was an AWESOME prayer! Thank you! I just spent the last couple days with my 3 teenage kids at Youth Encounter, my daughter rededicated her life to God, and my boys accepted Jesus into their hearts! Being a single Mom is not easy, but that was the ultimate pay-off!
